Sermorelin is a synthetically made version of growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH), the endogenous hormone responsible for stimulating natural growth hormone production. Also known as growth hormone releasing factor and GRF 1-29, it is categorized as a growth hormone secretagogue, a compound which stimulates increased secretion of growth hormone from the pituitary gland.

Usage

Sermorelin stimulates growth hormone production, thereby increasing muscle mass, decreasing body fat, enhancing recovery, improving sleep, enhancing flexibility and joint health, and improving overall health and wellness.

Sermorelin is used to treat poor growth development (typically in children) due to growth hormone deficiency. It functions by stimulating the pituitary gland to release more natural growth hormone.

Mechanism of Action

Similarly to the body?s natural GHRH, Sermorelin works by attaching to the growth hormone releasing hormone receptor (or GHRHr) in the anterior part of the pituitary gland. There, it works to stimulate the production of growth hormone and begins inducing increases in production of endogenous IGF-1. As it functions in similar manner to GHRH, Sermorelin?s positive effect on growth hormone output is modulated by a negative feedback mechanism initiated by somatostatin, the endogenous hormone also known as growth hormone inhibiting hormone (GHIH). This initiates many positive effects, some of which are the prevention of extreme, unhealthy growth hormone levels in the body and the mirroring of more natural patterns of fluctuation in growth hormone concentrations.

Sermorelin?s natural action mechanism allows for the preservation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-somatotropic axis, preventing the shutdown of hormone production that typically accompanies direct replacement with hGH. Sermorelin has also been shown to improve sleep quality, enhancing the duration of restorative slow wave sleep and amplifying sleep-related secretion of growth hormone while reducing production of cortisol (a catabolic stress hormone).

Administration

Mode of Administration: Subcutaneous injection to a fleshy part of the body, typically to the stomach or abdominal area.

Before administering Sermorelin, always be sure to use a clean and sterile syringe.

Hold the Sermorelin vial upright and insert the syringe in the center of the cap.
Draw the plunger until you have the correct amount (see ?Dosage? below) in the syringe and carefully remove it.
Before administering the syringe, use alcohol to cleanse the area of skin.
Pinch the skin around the area to be injected, leave about 2 cm on each side.
Hold the syringe at a 90 degree angle to your skin and swiftly insert the syringe.
Depress the plunger fully, until the syringe is empty, and carefully draw out.

Dosage

Dosage Amount: 100mcg to 1000mcg (0.10mg to 1.0mg)
Dosage Frequency: 1 – 3 times daily

Sermorelin can either administered once daily before bed or split into 2 ? 3 smaller doses throughout the day. Both approaches to administration can be effective and have been shown to have positive results in clinical studies.

While Sermorelin has a relatively short half-life of up to 20 minutes, it has been shown to stimulate an acute release of growth hormone for two hours after administration. Protocols delivering three daily doses of as little as 100mcg (0.10mg) per administration have been shown to cause a significant increase in growth hormone and IGF-1 secretion.

Side Effects

Sermorelin may generate several mild side effects, including: reaction in the injection site, such as pain, swelling and redness, flushing of the skin, headaches, difficulty swallowing, dizziness or fatigue, hyperactivity, hives, nausea and/or vomiting, change in taste, pallor, and tightness in the chest.
